Low Price Airline Tickets – How to Get Low Priced Tickets by Simply Thinking Outside of the Box

Category: Uncategorizedtaywin @ 2:32 pm

Looking for tips on how to get low price airline tickets easily? If you want to get tickets cheaper than what most other people pay, you’ll need to think outside of the box a little on this one and that is what I am going to show you how to do. If you know where and how to find discounts on airline tickets, you can save quite a bit of spare change on your next flight. Here are three easy ways anyone can get a discount on just about any airline ticket.

The first trick is understanding how prices are set for tickets. It is simple supply and demand. When everyone wants to fly, you’ll see prices are higher than the usual off peak season when no-one wants to fly. How can you use this to your advantage? The best way to get a low priced ticket is to fly in the off-peak season or at hours of the day when most other people don’t fly. This might mean catching a midnight plane, but it WILL save you money on your next flight.

If flying at midnight isn’t your thing or you don’t want to travel or just can’t travel during off peak season, then try calling and booking your ticket at midnight. Why should you call your travel agent just after midnight? If you call your travel agent just after midnight you will be one of the first few people who get access to that day’s specials as they are typically updated in their systems just after midnight. If a special is on offer and it is limited, you’ll be one of the first people to get it since you called the minute it became available. Most other people won’t know until they call later during the day time or actually walk into the travel agents to find out that it is already too late. The early bird catches the worm.

Do you have friends or family that work in the airline business? Ask them! You might even have friends who have connections in the airline industry that you are completely unaware of. Many times specials and discounts aren’t listed or offered publicly, you need to know someone on the inside. Ask some friends if they know of any specials or current discounts. The worst they can say is no.

These three tips should help just about anyone get low price airline tickets and you could possibly save hundreds of dollars off your next ticket.

Tips on How to Get a Good Airfare Deal Without Having to Con Anyone

Category: Uncategorizedtaywin @ 6:18 pm

1. SkyLow.com is a new venture which aggregates into a search engine quite a large number of worldwide low cost airlines. Their advantage is that they allow bookings on their site rather than redirect you to the airline. The ability to make a booking is great as in 4 steps they make a booking. They are growing every week with more and more airlines. They have an amazing tool to find cheapest options: Deal Finder. Skylow.com seems to target the backpackers and low budget travelers as they are regional flights focused.

2. Want a vacation to Hawaii? Go to Airtohawaii.com and get a free night package!

3. If you make a reservation for your flight to fly during the week you can often be able to get a further discount on an airfare to Las Vegas. Furthermore, because Saturday is one of the busiest days for most carriers on which they often levy premium rates, many of the carriers offer discounts on airfares to travelers whose trip includes a Saturday night.

4. Sign up for newsletters that will email you when exceptional airfare savings are available

5. Airfare prices tend to be better between 14 and 21 days before your target date. Airlines try to entice you to buy 2 or 3 weeks in advance with price breaks on airfares. This way the flight fills up and they can increase the profitability on that route.

6. If an airline is facing the possibility of breaking even or losing money on a particular route, they will frequently slash airfares the day before departure to entice travelers to book those airfares.

The downside is that this is a crap shoot. If you wait until the last minute to buy, you’re at the mercy of chance and could possibly end up having to pay premium airfares because the flight is nearly sold out.

How To Crack The High Airline Ticket Price Code

Category: Uncategorizedtaywin @ 3:50 am

Airline ticket costs have been on the rise for the last few years. In many instances, the inflation of prices can be linked to rising fuel costs and inflation. Airlines have struggled to deal with the increase in business expenses by using multiple methods such as block out days and cutting the number of flights to certain destinations, but inevitably it comes down to raising airline ticket prices.

This business strategy of passing on the cost of fuel and other expenses to customers is common. Most airlines will lower airline ticket prices during the low travel seasons to spark interest in travelers and then raise the prices once again at the height of travel seasons.

This fluctuation in pricing is frustrating to airline passengers to say the least. The earlier one buys his or her airline tickets, the better the price structure for the tickets. Although this is true, the lower cost is not always an overly traveling budget saving discount. Airline ticket prices are high.

Many consumers attempt to purchase their airline tickets months in advance to get the best possible deal but this tactic doesn’t work very well in many cases because there are thousands of would be travelers doing the exact same thing for popular flights. Supply and demand keeps prices high.

Then there is the obvious problem of needing a flight on the spur of the moment. OK, not everyone can schedule their travel months in advance. There is such a thing called spontaneity. Deciding to travel and wanting to leave in 2 days or less is common.

Ten out of fifteen people polled admit having been burned by the price of an airline ticket due to not knowing in advance that they would need to travel. Fifteen out of fifteen admitted changing travel plans in an effort to save money.

Travelers should be able to purchase your airline tickets and travel whenever you want. However, purchasing airline tickets based on that desire would cost you big. Airline ticket prices are often fifty to seventy percent higher when purchased at the last moment.

Don’t get me wrong. To save some cash, it is best to purchase your airline tickets as early as possible to avoid the jump in price. But if that isn’t possible, it is imperative that you use the available online tools to offset the costs associated with spontaneous airline ticket purchases.

The Cheap Airline Tickets Toolbar at CheapAirlineTicketsToolbar allows travelers to earn money for airline tickets so that they can fly without the usual wallet drain.

The Cheap Airline Ticket Toolbar interfaces with TypoBounty. TypoBounty is where companies seeking a very low advertising rate offer to pay web surfers for locating and reporting their web property’s errors. The companies are seeking to eliminate errors such as misspelled words, punctuation errors etc. With the average payout for a single error being over two dollars, financing ones need for airline tickets is no longer a problem.

Always shop around for the best airline ticket prices. Do it as far out as possible and use online tools that help offset the sting of the tickets price. Happy travels!

Credit Card Interest Rates – Why It’s Important To Understand How They Work

Category: Uncategorizedtaywin @ 9:52 pm

Einstein put it best when he said, “Compounding interest is the greatest mathematical discovery of all time”. Now the question you need to ask is, “Do I want this force working for me or against me?” If you own a credit card and you carry-over balances from month to month then you’ve got that amazing force called compounding interest working against you.

In this article, I’ll attempt to explain how this “force” works against you month after month after month, in the form of interest upon interest. And perhaps, by helping you to gain a better understanding of how this “force” works and how important even a small change in the interest rate you are being charged effects you and families financial future. And hopefully, it will also inspire and motivate you to do whatever it takes to pay off your credit cards and initiate some type of savings plan so you can put this “force” to work for you.

Credit Card Interest Rates are Compounded

The interest you pay on your credit card balances are compounded, which means that you pay interest on the interest from the month before. A simple example would be that if you were being charged an interest rate of 2% per month, you would not be paying 24% per year. In reality, you would be paying 26.82%. A neat little trick that credit card companies use to pick up an additional point or two of interest is to calculate interest on a monthly rather than on a yearly basis. You pay more but you don’t know you’re paying more.

A Brain Teaser

Here’s a little brain teaser based upon what you’ve already learned. Would you rather have $1 million in cash or $10,000 in some form of savings account earning you a compounded interest rate of 20 percent per year?

Hmm, let’s see how that $10,000 would grow after 10 years – $61,917 or 20 years – $383,375 or 30 years – $2,373,763 or 50 years – $563,475,143.

After fifty years, you would have over $500 million. Of course, you would have to take inflation into account and if we used a figure of 5% per year, then that $500 million would have the buying power that $10,732,859 does today. Not a bad return on your investment of $10,000 but on a side note it also exposes another lesson in how the compounding rate of inflation destroys wealth but that’s the subject of another article.

Clearly, that question was a bit tricky because there’s so many variables to take into account that would influence what decision you would ultimately make – but you get my point, the power of compounding interest and by the way… it’s the primary way credit card companies make their money is a powerful “force”. It’s also the way pensions work and the reason the prices of things seem to rise massively as you get older. Be afraid… or at the least very wary of compounding interest.

Compounding Interest Can Really Add Up

Now, let’s look at a more real world example. Let’s say you have an average unpaid balance of $1,000 on a credit card with an APR of 15 percent.

First year interest would be $150. However, this amount is then carried-over and added onto the balance and interest is charged on that. As a result, year two interest would be another $172.50 for a total of $1322.50 and it continues to build year after year. Year three, four and five would look like this – $1,520, $1,749 and $2,011.

As you can clearly see, after just five years at 15%, you would owe double what you borrowed and after 10 years you would owe four times. I know it’s hard to believe but once again this simple “real world” example dramatically demonstrates the power of compounding interest.

If you let something like that carry on long enough, you end up paying on that same amount of debt for years and years and end up paying back many times what you originally borrowed and in some instances you still may not have completely satisfied the original debt. Unfortunately, most people simply don’t take the time to think through this out and they feel that the high and never ending payments are simply their fault for spending too much money to begin with.

The Three Percent Difference

You may feel that there’s not that much difference between a credit card that charges an APR of 15% versus one that charges an APR of 12% but then again after reading this article I’m sure you’ve realized that there is and so – that’s exactly what I’m going to show you. Remember the previous example that showed you would owe over $2,000 after only five years at 15% after borrowing an initial amount of $1,000.

That same example at 12% reveals the following: Year one – $1120, year two – $1254 and years three through five – $1404, $1573 and $1762 respectively. After the same five year period you would have saved nearly $250 or almost 25% in interest from a mere 3% difference in APR. Quite dramatic and hopefully it will help you convince you to make the necessary decisions to pay-off your credit cards and start saving so that you can put, “the greatest mathematical discovery of all time” to work for you… rather than against you.

How Discount Airfares Can Reduce Your Vacation Cost

Category: Uncategorizedtaywin @ 5:03 am

When traveling, anytime you can save money on the actual travel part, it is more money you can put towards your actual vacation. This is one reason why in the travel market, discount airfares are so popular. Being flexible in your travel times and dates and planning early can present opportunities to locate largely discounted airfares. Most airlines are willing to lower raters on specific routes during certain times of the year.

In some instances, airlines believe that if you book your flight late, then you are in a desperate situation. Therefore, they are generally not willing to lower their published rates for travel. Additionally, if the location you are traveling to is a popular destination, they are even less likely to reduce the cost. However, the closer the departure date gets, many airlines will offer discount airfares in order to fill their plane and not have open seats. In order to land these deals, you will need to be flexible in your travel plans.

Airline travel hardly ever cancels trip because they are not booked to capacity. Once they have scheduled a flight, they generally do not cancel the flight even if they have only sold a few tickets for that specific flight. When an airline offers discounted seats on the flight, it is often an attempt to fill the vacant seats.

Popular Routes Rarely Sell For Less

If you are looking to fly to a popular destination, it is often hard to find discounted airfare. However, you may be able to save some money when using a travel agency to book your flight. Agencies often reserve seats on a flight and then they struggle to fill them once the time gets closer for the flight to actually leave. In instances like this, they have three options. They can sell the reservation back to the airlines, sell the seat at a discount price or simply eat the cost of the reservation.

If they choose to the sell the seats back to the airlines, they generally lose some of their original purchase price. Therefore, this is generally not an option they like to do, since they ultimately lose money. If they sell the seat at a lower cost, they will not make as much money, but they do not necessarily take a loss on the seat. However, in some instances it may be difficult for a vacationer to take full advantage of the sudden availability of the lower airfares.

Being flexible can generally work in the traveler’s favor. During certain times of the day, the airplane may not be filled up. Therefore, airlines will offer discount airfares, even to popular destinations. If you are willing to fly at non-traditional times, you can save a considerable amount of money. For example, it may cost a traveler full price to travel at noon. However, if the traveler is willing to fly at midnight, he or she may receive a lower rate for the same destination, on the same airlines.

Airline Baggage Restrictions and Other Baggage Tips

Category: Uncategorizedtaywin @ 3:51 am

It is always exciting to plan a vacation, and one of the things you need to do is drag out your old dusty luggage set (assuming you have not traveled recently), and see if you need to replace it. And another thing to put on your checklist is to find out about the airline baggage restrictions for your particular air carrier.

The best thing to do is contact your airline directly or go to their website to see what their particular rules and restrictions are. One thing that has changed is the policy regarding locking your luggage. In the past, it was a good idea to lock it and keep your key in your purse or carry-on bag, but security policies in most airports these days don’t allow you to lock your bags. This is done in case they need to check inside for some reason before being loaded onto the plane. If you do use a lock and it is against policy, it most likely will be cut off. An alternative is to simply use a twist tie (like those that come on a loaf of bread) to secure the zipper just to ensure it does not come open accidentally. In some cases this is about all you can do, although there are locks available with a universal key but I am not sure the airport personnel would take the time to verify this or not, so it might be a waste of money to buy these.

Many bags at the airport look alike, so it’s a good idea to make yours stand out as much as you can. You can buy a loud neon color that is easily seen or you can put a brightly-colored luggage strap around the suitcase for identification purposes. Another option is to tie a ribbon on it somewhere. One good thing about having easily-identifiable luggage is most thieves will not choose those to steal as they are too obvious.

For better odds on having your luggage arrive at the same destination you do, make sure you have them clearly labeled inside and out with your name and address. If you have a post office box I would use that instead of your home address just for security reasons, but if not then go ahead and use your home address or a work address. The best kind of tag to get is the kind that you have to open up to see the address. That way the details are not readily visible.

Don’t forget to remove all luggage straps before checking your bags, as these can get caught in machinery, causing damage.

Your next vacation will be hassle free if you remember to check your airline baggage restrictions and take advantage of these tips.

0% Credit Cards: Relief from Rising Interest Rates

Category: Uncategorizedtaywin @ 7:32 pm

If you haven’t checked your credit card statement lately, you should. Why? Because just about every time the Prime Rate increases, the interest rate you pay on a variable rate credit card rises accordingly. Over the past two years, the prime rate has skyrocketed to 8.00%, up 100% from January 2004, when this benchmark rate was a mere 4.00%. That means many credit cards that once charged rates around 10% are now charging close to 14% or more. Fortunately, credit card issuers have continued to offer 0% interest rates on balance transfers and purchases. For many, these 0% APR offers represent the best way to cut down on mounting interest charges.

Currently, American Express® leads the pack in 0% offerings, with the American Express® Blue credit card offering a 0% APR for up to 15 months. However, it takes excellent credit to attain this great introductory rate. In addition to the 15 month 0% APR offer, the American Express® Blue credit card also offers fixed APR balance transfers. Unlike the variable rates that apply to most balances, fixed APR balance transfers allow you to fix in your interest rate until the balance is repaid.

If you’ve been stung by rising interest rates, but don’t have the excellent credit needed to obtain an American Express® Blue, there are still a number of 0% APR options on the market. Just about every credit card issued by Chase offers a 0% interest rate on purchases and balance transfers for up to 1 year. Similarly, most Citi® credit cards offer at least a 0% for 12 months on balance transfers, with some cards offering 0% on purchases as well.

So, knowing what’s on the market, the question becomes: just how much can I save with a 0% APR credit card? While the precise value will differ from person to person, the basic answer is quite simple: a lot. For example, a $5,000 0% balance transfer can save a person with a 14% interest rate close to $800 over the course of one year. That’s no small change. If you don’t need a 0% balance transfer, but want flexibility in paying back your balance, a 0% APR on purchases will also provide great savings. For example, using a 0% credit card on just a $1000 of new purchases would still save you over $100 in interest expenses over the course of a year.

Smart credit card usage can save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars a year in interest. With current credit card rates moving higher and higher, a 0% credit card is more of an asset today than it was just a few years ago. Remember, however, that not all 0% offers are the same. Be sure to read the fine print. And enjoy the money you will save.

Category: Uncategorizedtaywin @ 11:31 am

If you’re planning a vacation and are on a tight budget, there’re many ways to cut the cost of traveling whether it is airfare, rental cars or hotel rooms.

If you plan your vacation a few months ahead, you can spend significantly less on airplane tickets. You could even plan your trip around a special offer. A round-trip tickets that generally costs a thousand dollars may sell for two hundred dollars on a few specific dates in a years. If you’ve been traveling a lot and have accumulated a lot of frequent flier miles with your favorite airline, you could get a few tickets at no cost.

Many hotels and motels offer savings for holders of frequent flier miles. Check to see which programs are good for hotel savings. Not all airlines miles can be used at hotels and motels. If you are willing to be flexible, you will have more options for savings in hotel rooms. Hotel rooms generally fluctuate by season and whether your stay falls on a weekday or weekend. You can usually save the most on the weekdays in the off season. However some hotels and motels that cater towards a business clientele are usually under booked on the weekends. The Internet is another useful tool to shop around – for instance, search for forget calling hotels. You could get a better rate if you place the order online as many hotels and motels are starting encouraging people to use the Internet to book the rooms. You save the money and they save the time of booking rooms over the phone.
